The ready mix business is a morning business and starts way before “early”. White Cap Ready-Mix can supply the smallest patio, sidewalk or custom foundation for homeowners as well as high spec materials needed for public highway structures, private industrial ventures, and many other projects. White Cap continues to proudly manufacture concrete for various needs. White Cap remains innovative and responsible in their efforts to keep the area beautiful.
White Cap's concrete plants have been located in some of the most environmentally sensitive areas of Western geography including Yosemite National Park, Tahoe and Plumas National Forest, remote valleys in rural Nevada and multiple areas of the Feather, Yuba and American River canyons. White Cap eventually operated up to seven concrete plants simultaneously throughout Nevada and the Sierras. The concrete plant was moved frequently to manufacture concrete in areas where none was available. “Have batch plant will travel!” was the motto. Projects in remote Northern Nevada locations became a specialty during the early years. Throughout the 80’s and early 90’s, both the company and family expanded. In 1980 Dixie joined the company, bringing the needed organization and administration to the growing company. Realizing the need for concrete products in rural Plumas County, Bob began the business by batching the concrete and driving the truck to deliver the product. White Cap Ready Mix, Inc was founded in 1976 by Bob Higgins.
